Letco is proud to have joined over 100 compounding pharmacy partners at the 2019 Compounders on Capitol Hill to advocate for and support the compounding industry alongside the International Association of Compounding Pharmacists (IACP).

Helping to provide some clarity around a pressing industry regulation, Erik Tosh - Letco’s VP of Compounding Support Services and IACP’s Board Chairman - presented a continuing education session on NIOSH and what it means for USP <800>. Visits with Legislators

Letco's Greg Lake with Representative Phil Roe

On Tuesday, May 22, members of the Letco team visited with key legislators to discuss signing a letter to the FDA about their proposed MOU (“memorandum of understanding”), asking for corrections regarding language about “distribution” so that it does not include patient-specific dispensing. The current MOU would put a cap on out-of-state prescriptions, limiting patient access to specialty compounders and necessary medications.

Letco team members Greg Lake, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, and Meghan Stevenson from the Compounding Support Services, joined Erik Tosh on the Hill to visit the offices of Senator Richard Shelby (R-AL), Rep. Buddy Carter (R-GA), Rep. Henry Cueller (D-TX), Rep. Phil Roe (R-TN), Rep. Greg Gianforte (R-MT), and more. Our conversations about the letter to the FDA and compounding industry priorities were productive, but we encourage our compounding partners to contact their representatives about the congressional letter and other legislative efforts.
